The lowdown on fire pit cooks, and if I had a thousand pounds...

...what BBQ, or kit, would I buy?

Well, there was a pretty darn big question coming at me via Francesca following the YouTube live brunch a couple of weekends ago. One that deserves is own newsletter.

Before I move on to that, just a quick thanks for joining me on the live, it was good to see some of you there, and to hear from others that you caught up later on. YouTube as a platform did work eventually even if it then took 24 hours post live to load up so you could watch it again. But I do wonder if longer form recipe videos, made specifically for you and posted on YouTube, would ultimately be a better way to go over ‘lives’. The problem with live cooking is that you have to….. wait for stuff to cook …. and (as we know) most things in life are better not rushed. Especially barbecue! So what you get is a lot of me waffling to fill air whilst stuff cooks. I hate filling air, its just not my style. Whereas I could just cook, take some time to explain things carefully and properly in a way I can’t with bloody instagram reels and edit them into a more satisfactory thing for you to watch at your leisure. A video you could learn something from, follow along if you felt like it, might be the way to go. I love doing longer form videos. 90 second reels are unsatisfying in so many ways.

What do you think? I’d love to hear your thoughts, Team Fire.

Back to Francesca…

‘If you had a thousand pounds to spend on fire kit, what would you spend it on?’
